kids karate classes in swansea are designed for the the 4- 6 year olds. The kids class aim to give basic skills in a fun environment that allow the young child to make the transition into the standard class with confidence from the age of 6 years or until the instructor feels they have achieved the required level. The syllabus is constructed to teach flexibilty balance,co-ordination,discipline and an understanding of certain basic karate techniques.

What happens during a childrens class
We always start with a warm up or stretching. Our warm ups and stretching techniques are yoga based so dont be surprised if your child walks around the house after class barking like a dog, meowing like a cat or roaring like a lion.
We then move onto teaching different techniques like punches, kicks and blocks. In between this we play fun games that work on balance and co-ordination.
Our aim is to teach not only the the physical side of karate, but also focus on building good coordination, balance and automotive skills. The children also learn about etiquette, discipline and respect "great news for any parent "
The Instructors
The Chief Instructor is Anne Hughes 4th Dan, Anne is also a qualified coach with the WKF and is CRB checked. Anne is an Advanced Hatha yoga teacher and Childrens yoga teacher so Anne includes techniques from the the yoga into the karate training.
Two junior black belts and 8 young students who train at the older class also help instruct alongside Anne in this class so the children are well looked after .
